LET EVERY JAIN COUNT
LET EVERY JAIN COUNT
Let Every Jain Count (LEJC) is an independent, data-informed civic awareness initiative formed by a small team of researchers, data scientists, and analysts concerned with the quality and accuracy of demographic data related to the Jain community.
While public discussions around the census are widespread, our early analysis revealed a critical gap: most conversations were driven by perception rather than verified data. There was limited consolidation of publicly available research, census trends, or academic studies that could objectively explain what was happening and why awareness was necessary.
During informal consultations, including interactions with individuals familiar with census processes, it became evident that accurate participation depends heavily on clarity and preparedness at the community level. In several cases, officials and field-level insights highlighted that misclassification often occurs due to lack of awareness during enumeration.
